Coding first day. All of the students sat down on the mat and Mr Walker said the first thing to do is draw a character. First bit of code we had to duplicate the character then face it the other way. The code was to turn it each way and made it go left an right, up and down. Next we learnt how to make a background i did a black ground,dark blue sky and a not so bright sun. Dylan E tort me how to make my happy face sprite fall out of the sky and went you touch them they spawn in random places. Aiden H tort me  how to shoot.Nathan w tort me how to transform into a different sprite when e is pressed.

A long time ago sun flew across the sky really fast and day were shorter and no work was done. So Maui got his four brothers and made a rope of flax then set off a night to where the roused. So then they made a little wall of stones. Soon the sun awoke and the brothers tangled the sun in the flax. Maui got this fishing hook and hit the sun again and again Maui told the sun not to move across the sky so quickly and the sun keep his promise and now day were longer and more work was done.

Nicolas Roeg is the director of the witches movie in 1990. roeg used lots of technique like cross cutting,special effects,editing and camera angles.Nicolas based the movie on the book by Roald Dahl in 1983.

Roeg put in stuff that make the audience fell sick,uncomfortable this makes people jump back in there seats.Roeg also did close up so you're facing the person well the background is all fuzzy.Also Roeg used zoom in so from a far way angle then it quickly or slowly zooms in.

Roeg used a technique called high angle.This angle was used to zoom in from a high place. It was used in the movie when the witch looked at a girl from her high window. This angle is used to help the audience see what the characters are looking at.

Tail away is another technique that Roeg used. The way its used is that the character walks away from the camera. In the movie this technique when the car drove away from the hotel with Grandma and Luke in it. This made the viewer fell safe.

Roeg used these techniques to understand the movie the witches.

Fact’s

• Worms help water to go throw the soil so it can get to the plant to make it grow.
• Earthworms make tunnels to make the plant grow
• Worms don’t only help plants but they also recycle the scraps so we can use them to help the.                                           
• Soft dirt is worm poop and hard dirt is the stuff that worms are going to eat and make soft and good for planting

On Wednesday room 9 went to the Hamilton gardens. First Mrs Strathen split the room in to 2 groups 2 look at different gardens. First group 2 look at the sustainable garden and group 1 look at the garden with veges in it. The sustainable had many fetchers with all the colors and chickens and gold fish the veg garden had many plants and fruit

The Treaty of Waitangi was signed in the North Island of New Zealand in 1840 it tog 3 days for it to be signed because of all the people in the line .

A musket is a powerful weapon they used for defence it is a one shot weapon that can kill a man in one shot it can not go far it was meant to be a close range weapon that they used to kill a lot of people.

King Tawhiao stopped the war between maori and british by putting the gun down by the britishs feet and the british accepted to live together in peace and not harming each other.  

The treaty is how maori and british kept the peace and  lived together without war.

The first school that was made in 1974 in the waikato is the daycare in pirongia next to the  The museum.

  Conference

• In reading I am reading at 8.5-9.5 years.
• My goal is to be reading at 9.5 - 10.5 by the end of the year.
• In reading we have been learning to skim and scan.
• The reason why we learnt to skim and scan is to learn to read quickly over the page and pick up important information.

In Maths I am working in the fractions group This means I need to do more mathletics and math games.

My goal is to be at level decimals group by the end of the year.

To achieve this I need to work on my basic facts knowledge.

In maths we have been learning number lines.

You can help me at home by using the math games that we’ve learnt.

In writing I am working at level 2A

My goal is to be at level 3B by the end of the year.

Dissecting organs By Max B

On thursday 26 of may we were dissecting organs heart,lungs,kidneys,throat, and  brains. I didn't see much because i feel nauseous. But the others dissected heats. Then we look at a special machine that you dip some stuff on it and it detects your heart.

In term 1 we did koru art. we got a piece of paper and draw with pasties. All of room 9 did these.

Swimming Sports

On Friday it was swimming sports. Me and Kayden were talking well we wait. It took a long  time but we were amazing in swimming. We sat together until it was our turn. We did breaststroke and and backstroke until the semi finals Kayden won backstroke semi finals and i lost but i was proud for him. I cheered Kayden on as he came second.
